This collection contains the records of the Office of Innovation and Engagement, which pertain to copyright, patents, and intellectual property created by faculty, staff, and students of the university.
The Office of Innovation and Engagement fosters relationships between industry and community partners from eastern North Carolina and beyond with ECU scholars, innovators, and entrepreneurs for mutually beneficial partnerships. The Office of Innovation and Engagement is a subdivision of the Office of Research, Economic Development and Engagement.
The Office of Innovation and Engagement has seven different services and centers. These are: Continuing and Professional Education, East Carolina Research and Innovation Campus, Engaged Research, Innovative Workforce Partnerships, Licensing and Commercialization, National Security and Industry Initiatives, and the Small Business and Technology Center.
The Office of Innovation and Engagement also has eight programs. These programs are: Digital Market, Engaged Outreach Scholars Academy, I-Corps@ECU, Innovation Ambassadors, Lifelong Learning Program, Purple and Gold Bus Tour, RISE29, and SECU Public Fellows Intership Program.
The office was previously known as the The Office of Innovation and New Ventures. It was comprised of three offices: Licensing and Commercialization, Greenville SEED, and the Small Business Technology Development Center.
