Biographical/historical information
Samuel Barnes Dew was born 1855 October 21 on a farm near Bailey, North Carolina to William and Emily (Williams) Dew. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1885, and then practiced medicine in the coal mine area of Bluefield, West Virginia. The same year, Dew married Sue Lewis and they would have Archie and Randolph. He later remarried to Nannie Norman and had Ruth. Dew moved to Spring Hope, Noth Carolina to practice medicine and lived there until 1908 when he moved to Bailey. He died 1919 March 10 in Bailey, North Carolina.
