Dr. Millard Daniel Hill was born 4 February 1901 to Zebulon B. and Lillian (Whitley) Hill. He practiced medicine from 1928 to 1969. Hill's first wife was Thelma L. McCabe whom he divorced in October 1957. Together they had Millard Jr. and Lillian Lee. In September 1958, Hill married Edith G. Boone. He was an officer of the North Carolina Medical Society. He died 17 April 1969.
The collection is comprised of four notebooks kep by Millard D. Hill between 1926 and 1927. The topics discussed in each notebook are: fractures and radiology, preventative medicine, nervous and mental diseases, and neurological surgery notes.
