Biographical/historical information
Nancy "Nannie" Carr Hicks was born to John Willis Hicks and Melissa Ann Edwards in Warren, North Carolina on 1886 June 6. She attended Wilson Sanatorium Training School for Nurses and graduated on 1909 June 21. Hicks practiced as a nurse in eastern North Carolina and lived in Goldsboro for much of her adult life. She married Edward Miller Davis in Goldsboro on 1913 June 11. Nannie Hicks died in Goldsboro, North Carolina on 1958 March 1.
Scope and arrangement
This collection of items is from Nannie C. Hicks' professional life as a nurse in North Carolina. The photograph file includes images of Hicks as a nurse at Girl Scout Camp and her nurse training school class photograph. Her diploma for graduating from Wilson Sanatorium Training School for Nurses, a copy of a letter she wrote in 1913, a prescription, and her office invoices complete the collection.
