In this oral history, Harold Jones talks about his musical studies at the University of Michigan, career at East Carolina as a music professor, and other musical endeavours.
Biographical/historical information
Harold Jones was born March 10, 1938 in Pontiac, Michigan. He studied at the University of Michigan. Afterwards he taught at East Carolina from 1961 to 1996, serving as the chair of the instrumental department and leading the percussion ensemble. Outside of work, he was involved in forming the Greenville Community Band. He received several awards from the Percussion Art Society including the Lifetime Achievement Award.
