Biographical/historical information
Joseph Calvin Crutchfield, Jr. was born August 23, 1958 in Roanoke, Virginia and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He briefly went to college at Wake Forest University before transferring to East Carolina University in 1978. He taught history at the high school and community college levels.
