Biographical/historical information

Richard K. Worsley began working at his father's, James Worsley, office while enrolled as a student at North Carolina State University. After obtaining his certified public accounting license, Worsley established his own firm in 1951, the third of its type to ever practice in Greenville, before eventually forming Worsley, Collins and Company, later named Worsley, Collins and Goodson Inc., with Mike Collins in 1982. Worsley would go on to become an important donor for East Carolina University, eventually joining both the Order of the Cupola as well as Leo W. Jenkins Society, two groups meant to recognize the institutions most prestigious benefactors. In recognition of his support, East Carolina University bestowed an honorary alumni status of Worsley in November 1992.
