Biographical/historical information

During her time as a student at East Carolina University, Debra Newby and other students worked to highlight gender inequality among the school's athletic programs. She ran Women's Track and played on the Women's Junior Varsity basketball team. Newby graduated in 1979.

This collection contains notes, clippings, and correspondence related to a Title IX discrimination complaint filed on behalf of Debra Newby and several other East Carolina University students.
