This collection contains the administrative records, printed materials, and publications for the Department of Science Education. Record types include annual reports, staff meeting minutes, self-studies, unit codes, brochures and flyers, and newsletters.
Biographical/historical information
The Department of Science Education is a department within the College of Education. This department offers on and off-campus undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as study abroad programs, that develop well-educated teachers and professionals. Faculty summer programs studying climate change in coastal ecosystems include trips to Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ireland, and Belize. It also provides a variety of professional development and outreach programs. Undergraduate education students may choose to concentrate in science at the elementary or middle grades levels or to pursue high school science by earning a B.S. in Science Education. Graduate programs include a 15 hour Science Education Specialist Certificate and a 30 hour Master of Arts in Science Education. These courses are designed for science teachers and informal science educators.
