Biographical/historical information

Todd L. Savitt, PhD, is a medical historian at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Colgate University in 1965, Master's degree in 1970, and PhD in 1975 from the University of Virginia in history. From 1976 to 1982, Savitt taught at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He joined the ECU Bioethics and Interdisciplinary Studies at the Brody School of Medicine in 1982 and teaches history of medicine, literature and medicine, social and cultural issues in medical practice, and medical ethics.
