Biographical/historical information
Cornelius Henry Brantley, M.D. was born 17 June 1860 to Handy and Susan (Medlin) Brantley. He attended the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Baltimore and graduated in 1887. He practiced medicine in Stanhope, North Carolina from 1887 - 1912, and then in Bailey, North Carolina from 1912 – 1942. Brantley married Edna Vick Westray in 1890 and they had Susan (Bissette), Paul Clayton, Edgar Lee, George Westray, Grace, and Donald Bowles. Brantley died 31 July 1942.
