François-Xavier Martin (1762–1846)
François-Xavier Martin was a jurist, legal scholar, and publisher active in the early United States, particularly in North Carolina and Louisiana. Born in France, Martin immigrated to the United States in the late eighteenth century and initially worked as a printer and bookseller before entering the legal profession. He later served as a justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court and is noted for his published court reports and historical writings on Louisiana.Romulus Armistead Nunn (1876–1966)
Romulus Armistead Nunn was a North Carolina attorney, public official, and writer. A native of eastern North Carolina, Nunn practiced law and was active in civic and political affairs during the early to mid twentieth century. He served in the North Carolina General Assembly and was engaged in historical and legal writing. His authorship of the 1922 biographical sketch of François-Xavier Martin reflects an interest in regional and legal history.Henry Groves Connor (1852-1924)
Henry Groves Connor was a North Carolina lawyer and jurist.
