Photographs and negatives of African American minstrel show performers (most, if not all, are members of Silas Green from New Orleans show) both on and off stage. These negatives and photographs were made from the originals (1932-1942, undated) in 1998 and the whereabouts of the originals are unknown. Charles Morton starred as Little Charlie Morton Jr. with the Silas Green from New Orleans tent travelling show and posters listed him as Silas Green's youngest star.

Biographical/historical information

Originally founded by Salem Tutt Whitney, the show Silas Green from New Orleans debuted around 1908. Prof. Eph Williams later acquired rights to the show and rebranded his Prof. Eph Williams' Famous Troubadours as Silas Green from New Orleans by 1912. After Williams' death in 1921, ownership went to his daughter Vivian Williams Brent and Charles Collier. By the time these photographs were taken, Charles Collier was the sole owner. The show toured into the late 1950s under the eventual name of Silas Green Show.
