September 19, 2023, 0.2 cubic feet; Birth and death information (1740-1812) for the Bishop family of Cheraw District, South Carolina, are written in ink on the inside of the front cover of a book. Only the front cover of the book is extant. [According to ECU Conservator Larry Houston, the wooden cover board is covered in an alum tawed pig skin and the tooling suggests a late gothic style binding which indicates the book's date was anywhere from 1550 to the 1700s.] Gift of William E.
