Biographical/historical information
Annie Geneva Higgs was born May 3, 1899 to Jacob Wilson Higgs and Sarah J. "Sadie" Dixon. She married Herman Henry Duncan on Jun 19, 1923 and became Annie Higgs Duncan. Annie had two children Richard Higgs Duncan and Mary Ann Duncan. They lived in Greenville, North Carolina.
Scope and arrangement
This collection contains a scrapbook kept by Annie Higgs Duncan (wife of Herman Henry Duncan) or Greenville, North Carolina. The majority of the scrapbook contains news clippings about how to be a wife by Dorothy Dix, advice about how to raise children, medicine remedies, gardening tips, and announcements. There are also letters by Annie, grocery lists, and doctor notes.
The collection also includes a children's book called A Child's Garden of Verses (1928) and called A Picture Book of Fairy Tales (1930).
