This collection includes Hyde County, North Carolina, land records (1797-1825) for Benson, English, Bell, Carrowon, and Selby families; a will (1791) for Samuel Selby; and an 1824 letter.

The Bell, Benson, Carrowon, English, and Selby families brought and sold real estate in Hyde County, North Carolina and the land records document those real estate transactions. Samuel Selby of the Selby family owned enslaved people and this information is documented in his will which is among the land records.
