This collection consists of an autograph book possibly kept by Elizabeth Williams while she was attending Greenville High School in Greenville, North Carolina. The entries have dates for 1942 and 1943. Besides having comments and poems written by her girlfriends, there are also entries written by members of the military forces (during World War II) and a listing of local men and what branch of the military they belong to. This autograph book was found in the attic of 2707 E. Third St. in Greenville, N.C.
Elizabeth "Lib" Downing Williams, a native of Cumberland County, was a resident of Greenville, North Carolina, for 60 years. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel G. Williams. She had two children. Williams died on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the age of 93. Her burial was at the Pinewood Memorial Park, Greenville, NC.

U.S. military branches represented in the book include the Marines, Navy, Army, Coast Guard and the Army Air Corps. Some of the men were stationed at Camp Elliot in San Diego, California, Camp Lejeune in New River, North Carolina, Cherry Point, North Carolina, Camp Tyson, Tennessee, and New York City. The list of names at the back of the book includes twenty-seven men in the Marines, six men in the Navy, and two men in the Army. This autograph book was found in the attic of 2707 E. Third St. in Greenville, North Carolina.
