Collection consists of a DVD containing 581 images of photographs and documents related to the life of William Haydock Fillmore (1893-1966) who married into the Carr family of Edgecombe County, North Carolina. He founded and operated the Fillmore Flying Service in Oakland, California, in the late 1920s through the 1930s, was a barnstormer, a commanding officer in the Army Air Corps during World Wars I and II and the Korean War, and retired to a farm named Chosumneda in Edgecombe County. William Haydock Fillmore (1893-1966) was married to Martina Van Riswick Carr (1904-1972), the daughter of Elias Carr, Jr., of Edgecombe Co., N.C. Mr. Fillmore was very active in early aviation in the Oakland, California, area. He founded and ran the Fillmore Flying Service at the Oakland Airport in the late 1920s and the 1930s, was a barnstormer, was a commanding officer in the Army Air Corps serving during World Wars I and II and the Korean War, and retired to a farm called Chosumneda in Edgecombe County, near the Carr home place at Bracebridge Hall.
