Professor James Craig Holte is an author and a member of the East Carolina University English Department faculty. His degrees include a B.A. from Columbia University, and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. His publications include Writing from Experience, Writing about Literature, The Ethnic I, The Conversion Experience in America, Dracula in the Dark, and The Fantastic Vampire. He is the editor of The Ruthven Literary Bulletin and has served as a special editor for The Journal of the Fantastic in the Arts. He has written over 300 film reviews and has lectured internationally on film and popular culture. He regularly teaches courses in film and literature.
This collection consists of drafts, manuscripts, proofs, and correspondence relating to Dracula in the Dark: The Dracula Film Adaptations. Included are photocopies of an edited manuscript (1996) and a corrected proof (1997), typescript copies of an incomplete manuscript copy (1996), and a draft manuscript (n.d.). Also included are a letter (1996) from Claire Cropper, Assistant Production Editor at Greenwood Publishing Group, with editing notes for the manuscript; 2 copies of written blurbs for the manuscript, including a description of the author; a guide to indexing by Greenwood Publishing Group; and a list of checking procedures for final checking of a written manuscript.
