Notebook of school mathematic equations, specifically in the education of multiplication. Also included are financial problems and solutions and a poem by Presley Carter Person.
Biographical/historical information
Presley Carter Person (ca. 1770-1845) was the father of Joseph Arrington Person (d.1884). Joseph married Alice Morgan Person (1840-1913) ca. 1857. Mrs. Person was a businesswoman who manufactured and sold patent medicines.
Scope and arrangement
This collection contains a single notebook with hand written notes by Presley Carter Person in 1795. The majority of the notebook includes school mathematical equations, financial problems, and solutions. Additionally, there is a poem written in the notebook. A small portion of the notebook has notes of births, receipts, and debts written by Joseph Arrington Person.
