Biographical/historical information
The Chauncey name in the United States began with Charles Chauncey, the second President of Harvard College. Charles Chauncey was born in England in 1592 and immigrated to America in 1637 where he began teaching at Plymouth. Charles Chauncey had six sons, and his ancestors began to migrate to the South. Family and decedents that can be linked to Charles Chauncey include the Walley, Snoad, and Bradford families.
Scope and arrangement
The bulk of this collection are genealogical charts and biographical accounts of members from the Chauncey Family. Supporting documents include letters, news clippings, and phototgraphs.
