Trinity Episcopal Church is located in Chocowinity, NC. It was founded by Nathaniel Blount, who was ordained in London to be a deacon and priest in order to serve the North Carolina Colony. Blount founded new parishes and helped to establish existing ones. In 1774, he founded a chapel at Godley's Crossroads, which would later be known as Blount's Chapel. In 1817, the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina was formed and John Stark Ravenscroft was chosen to be the first bishop. The newly elected Ravenscroft consecrated Blount's Chapel as a house of worship and renamed it to Trinity Church. In 1939, the church moved to a new location in Chocowinity, which was stated to be due to vandalism. As of 2024, the church still serves the Chocowinity area.
