Biographical/historical information

The squadron was first established as Bombing Squadron 106 (VB-106) on June 1, 1943, redesignated Patrol Bombing Squadron 106 (VPB-106) on October 1, 1944, then redesignated for a last time on May 15, 1946 as Patrol Squadron 106 (VP-106) until it was established on October 5, 1946. The squadron was assigned to various ports such as: NAAS Camp Kearney, NAS Kaneohe Bay, and NAS San Diego.


Scope and arrangement

This collection consists of Xeroxed copies of Declassified Records and Action Reports, newspaper clippings, pictures, short biographies, and memoirs about the Navy Squadron 106, Bombing Squadron 106, Patrol Bombin Squadron 106, and Patrol Squadron 106.
