Biographical/historical information
Charles Patrick Landers was born on October 12, 1912 in New York City. Charles a sibling to over a dozen children, with the majority of the men going off to fight in World War II. After enlisting in the draft in 1940, he was enlisted into the Navy and served in World War II as a Gunners Mate. While in the Navy, Charles traveled to the Palaus Islands, San Pedro Bay, and Okinawa. When the war was over, he returned home and worked as the Vice President of the Valley Stream, Long Island bank. He married in 1965 and had a son, Patrick Landers, at the age of 59. Charles passed away at the age of 68 in July 1981 of an illness.
