Philip Stauderman Philip Stauderman was born on May 8, 1920, in Brooklyn, NY to Philip Stauderman and Jeannette Matthew. He graduated from Scotch Plains High School in New Jersey. He attended New York University where he received his BA in Economics in 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Stauderman was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown and the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity-Omicron Chapter at the University of Pennsylvania; Life member of Myerstown VFW Post 6076; member of the Navy Club #91, Lebanon; member of the Pocono Mountains Lions Club, receiving the Lion of the Year award in 1995; past president of the Stoneridge Resident's Assoc. and a past member of the Board of Trustees of the ECC Retirement Village, Myerstown.

USS SC-632 The USS SC-632 was a United States Navy submarine chaser commissioned during World War II. Part of the SC-497-class, these wooden-hulled vessels were designed for coastal antisubmarine warfare, convoy escort duty, and patrol operations. The SC-497-class submarine chasers, sometimes nicknamed "the splinter fleet," were relatively small craft (measuring approximately 110 feet in length and displacing 100 tons), but they played a vital role in defending Allied shipping lanes from the persistent threat of German U-boats and Japanese submarines.Following the end of World War II, many SC-class chasers, including the SC-632, were decommissioned or transferred to Allied navies as part of postwar military assistance programs.
