Biographical/historical information
Richard A. Morin was a management forester for the Division of Forestry and Parks of the N.C. Department of Conservation and Development and a former forestry student at the University of Michigan School of Forestry and Conservation. The papers are an accumulation of forestry and related information resulting from the above activities.
Scope and arrangement
Much of the material is related to college courses in forest management, economics, conservation, mapping, pulpwood production, theory of sampling, U.S. forest land policy (1939), and other subjects pertinent to an accredited forester. Other material is of North Carolina origin, and contains information on management and inventory of state forest lands. A study of forest resources in various North Carolina counties is included in this portion of the material. Several technical guides, pamphlets, information sheets, and mechanical measuring and mapping devices are also in the binders.
