Pocket scale
Description
Copper scale with a metal cross bar; two brass, circular pans tied by thread chords to a circular hook at each end of bar; bar suspended at center with hinge to fulcrum; hook on top of fulcrum. Rectangular wood box with metal prongs stapled through lid and base at back as hinge; hook at center front to latch through metal circle at lid center; interior lined with faded velvet; wood square compartment at right corner of box. Ten weights, some marked in scruples and drams; thin metal piece, about 1" also in box.
