Abstract:

North Carolina made a determined step toward the development of heavy industry when Carolina Steel--a division of Florida Steel Company--began construction on a $3.3 million plant near Charlotte, North Carolina. From ore refining to fabrication, the already impressive plant is built to take on expansion in each process of steel production.
