Abstract:
One of the most obvious essential industries that are often overshadowed by electronics, steel and automobiles is the production of clothing. First organized as a corporation in 1903, the P.H. Hanes Knitting Company has been working to keep North Carolinians with the heavy union suit (known as the 'long-handles'). The company has been expanding and innovating since then, the brand name label being sold across the country by 1914. And in 1960 a new selling organization has marketed the Hanes Red Label mark of men's and children's socks.
