Abstract:
Named the 'First Temple of the Atom,' the nuclear reactor at North Carolina State College is the first college-owned reactor for atomic research in the United States. The reactor is being used to train in the field of nuclear engineering, provide research for graduate students and faculty in radiation experiments for biology, chemistry, physics, and medicine.
