Abstract:
Hung on the request of Sir William Berkeley, William Drummond, the first governor of North Carolina, was executed for a rebellion against the aristocracy of Virginia. The rebellion, led by Nathaniel Bacon, is reportedly the first uprising involving Englishmen in the New World.
