Winslow’s Tavern was named in honor of Jasper.Edgar Winslow, a leading Greenville citizen. Winslow was a native of Quaker Neck, Wayne Co., NC. He settled in Greenville in 1902 and subsequently established a large horse, mule and livestock business. Winslow was active in the community and was a strong advocate for the farmer. Winslow constructed the subject building in 1910 as a horse and mule sales stables. In addition, the building has been home to a car repair business, car dealership, and the Globe Hardware Store.
