Abstract:
The US Department of Justice sent undercover observers to monitor the polls in Alamance County. Some have speculated that observers were sent after an illegal immigrant in Alamance County was arrested for forging documents obtained through a potential leak by health care officials. Several politicians in the county also ran on anti-immigrant platforms who have raised the question of illegal voting. Observers were present to make sure there were no problems at the polls and the Voting Rights Act was observed.

Abstract:
The integrity of the recent Pittsboro town races and Chatham County’s land-transfer tax referendum are being debated. Campaign and ballot violations have been alleged by several in Chatham County and the election results protested. Political observers say that this has become typical of Chatham County, and a Superior Court judge ruled that the Chatham County Board of Elections broke the law last year. The issues at the ballot could affect the outcomes of at least one race and the status of the referendum.

In this article Joseph Golden got a phone call that accused him of voting in two different states for the same election. Allegations like this all started coming after Roy Cooper won the election against Pat McCory. Republicans around this time was filling out voter protest forms will allegations that votes were coming from dead voters, felons, and people voting in multiple states. It was seen as attempts to discredit the election.
