"Charlotte officials have an ambitious blueprint for a 'safe and equitable' transportation network--if they can find a way to pay for it." A key component to a Strategic Mobility Plan city council adopted in November 2022 is a "50-50 mode share aspiration," aiming for half all road trips being made in something other than a care, be it bus, rail bicycle or other.
