Chapel Hill attorney John McCormick recently disappeared leaving behind major debt and taking money owed to clients with him. 1.1 million dollars in clients’ and friends’ money is missing and McCormick’s siblings say he owes over 800,000 dollars in taxes on their parents escape. The story of McCormick’s trouble, his history of shady dealings, the lack of action taken by the NC Bar against him, and the people whose money he stole are detailed.
