Abstract:
East Carolina Department of Geological Sciences students under direction of Siddhartha Mitra are using soot, char and other chemical residues produced by fire to investigate and tell stories relevant to human history, the earth and the universe. Mitra is director of the integrated coastal sciences ddoctoral program.
