Abstract:
The Craven Historical Dancers and the New Bern Dancing Assembly re-create life in Tryon Palace in the days of the Royal Governor. Unlike modern day entertainment and entertainers, people in Colonial America provided entertainment for each other. The Baroque dance was a noble dance style and technique of the period. Sickles discusses the dance and the work of the two dance groups.
