Carolina Tractor & Equipment Company, now in its seventy-third year, is one of the country's oldest Caterpillar dealerships. The Charlotte company has been run by the Weisiger family for three generations. Edward I. Weisiger, Jr., is the current president and CEO.

Abstract:
Charlotte-based J.A. Jones Construction Company is one hundred years old. Founded in 1890 by James Addison Jones as a small brick masonry company, J.A. Jones is now a diversified general contractor. The company has built a number of North Carolina's most significant landmarks. In 1909, the firm built the state's first skyscraper, the Independence Building in Charlotte, and in 1988, the company completed the tallest building in the Carolinas, One First Union Center.
