Abstract:
William Henry Curry is in his twelfth season as conductor of the North Carolina Symphony. He was resident conductor of the New Orleans Symphony before coming to Raleigh and has also conducted in St. Paul, Baltimore, Indianapolis, New York, and Houston.

Abstract:
Raleigh native Lamar Stringfield is a composer and conductor and has won a Pulitzer Prize for his work. He was appointed conductor of the first state-supported orchestra in the nation, the North Carolina Symphony, when it organized in 1932.
