Abstract:
The festivities of the Aurora Fossil Festival include a parade, a 5K run, great food, live music, dancing, lawn mower pulls, car cruise-in, and games. Groups such as the North Carolina Fossil Club and the Special Friends of the Aurora Fossil Museum will display their personal collections. There will be interesting lectures on fossils and a tour of the neighboring PotashCorp-Aurora facilities. Last but not least, a live fossil auction followed by the highly anticipated drawing of the 2017 C. megalodon raffle tooth.
