On July 29, 1902, George Kittrell, an employee of J. E. Fountain & Co., in Falkland, went to investigate the large well that supplied water for the boilers of the mill. George Kittrell was suddenly overcome by gas in the well and immediately died.

He talked about Richard Lawrence Tyson and gave an early history of the Tyson’s as he believed. His line started with Matthias Tyson, then Edmund Tyson, then Edmund Tyson II, then Ichabod Tyson, then Benjamin Tyson to him (Benjamin Hawkins Tyson). Benjamin Hawkins Tyson, who would be age 87 on Nov. 27, 1931, gives his Civil War service and states that three years later he was elected Brig. General Commander of the 2nd Brigade NC Division of veterans.

John Taylor died in 1825, his Will dated July 23, 1825. He left wife Allifair Taylor, a son Nehemiah Taylor and five daughters: Rebecca Taylor, Delitha Taylor, Milly Taylor, Allifair Taylor and Leisa Taylor. Nehemiah Taylor died intestate without issue. The five daughters are dead by 1866. The heirs wanting partition in 1866 were: Nancy Taylor, Serina Taylor, Amariah Taylor, Clayton H. Taylor, William Bryant and wife Luvisa, Albert Moore and wife Elizabeth, Robert Parker and wife Miranda, William Briley and wife Ethalinda, Leroy M. Whitehurst, Benjamin N.
