He talked about Richard Lawrence Tyson and gave an early history of the Tyson’s as he believed.
His line started with Matthias Tyson, then Edmund Tyson, then Edmund Tyson II, then Ichabod Tyson, then Benjamin Tyson to him (Benjamin Hawkins Tyson). Benjamin Hawkins Tyson, who would be age 87 on Nov. 27, 1931, gives his Civil War service and states that three years later he was elected Brig. General Commander of the 2nd Brigade NC Division of veterans.
