Abstract:
Masonboro Island, a part of the North Carolina National Estuarine Research Reserve, has remained undisturbed since it was discovered. Unlike its neighbors, Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach, it has not been commercialized.

Abstract:
Drones have become the newest tool in order to combat large amounts of marine garbage. Not only are drones cost-effective, but they offer a bird’s eye view of the area in question, allowing for plans to be made for removal.
