Abstract:
Tea dates back over 5,000 years to ancient China and is one of the world's most popular beverages, being second only to water. In pre- Revolutionary days the tea tax was an irritant to colonists, resulting in the famous Boston Tea Party, in 1773, and locally, the Edenton Tea Party in 1774. In 1980, the Twining Company of London opened a plant in Greensboro that makes 12 million tea bags a day.
