Abstract:

Salisbury is a town devoted to preservation. There are 1,200 historic sites located within ten National Register Historic Districts. Only Savannah has more historic sites. Since 1975, the Historic Salisbury Foundation has set aside the second weekend in October for a tour of some of the historic properties. Funds raised protect some one hundred older homes from demolition.
