Abstract:

A well-known and highly respected community volunteer in Edenton, Sadie Riddick has given particular attention in recent years to the restoration of Kadesh AME Zion Church on East Gale Street. The church was home to one of the first African-American congregations in Chowan County. It was heavily damaged by Hurricane Isabel in 2003.

With over 250 photographers, craftsmen, and artists, the Arts of the Albemarle gives viewers a true taste of Elizabeth City's culture. Inside the non-profit organization, one can also find the Maguire Theatre located upstairs, directly above the main building.

Founded in 1999 by former physician Ellen Colodney, the business is principally advertised for development projects where wastewater runoff requires being addressed before it goes into a receiving stream.
