The believed war on the poor cited evidence. One is the decision not to accept Medicaid assistance under Obamacare. Another is an increase in taxes for low and moderate income families by ending Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). The third is income tax reforms that included reducing or eliminating the state individual income tax and corporate income tax, which the author believes will be replaced by the consumption or user tax.

If the US were a house, the ever widening income gap between the very wealthy and the other 99% of Americans would be the elephant in the room. It’s too big to ignore, as hard as any economist or political figure may try to. Too big to keep ignoring, lest the gap widen to a chasm that no fiscal bridge can cross.
