Abstract:

John W. Anderson, an Asheville watercolor artist began his interest with art in childhood cartoon characters and later in architectural drafting. While Anderson was born in New York City and grew up in Philadelphia, Anderson and his wife, Ellen, an interior decorator, have spent 22 years in Florida and retired to Asheville in 2005.

Tim Owen, chief of staff for the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, is a graduate of UNC-Asheville and Penn State. His interest in meteorology extends back to a childhood winter and a thermometer; Owen's passion for weather supports the National Weather Service and records weather data from all over the country.
