Former baker Rob Nichols helped start the bakery at Weaver Street Market in Carrboro. The bakery became a community gathering point just community ovens for baking bread were throughout history in Europe. The bakery started Community Oven Nights, Bakery Open Houses, Pizza Making Nights where people of all kinds could come and use the oven to make bread or pizza. Nichols discusses how important community is to bread making and the joy people get from bread.
Abstract:
The Wildlife Action Plan was created by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission to address conservation needs of the state over the next decade. In this fourth of a five-part series, the authors discuss how the plan is being implemented in the Coastal Plains. In this region water is the hub around which conservation of land and animals revolves.
