Charles Cline Peters is vice president for manufacturing of Federal Paper Board Company. He runs the company’s Forest Products Division, also known as the Riegelwood Operation, which encompasses one of the world’s largest fully bleached paperboard and pulp mills, and lumber mills. In December 1924, James Buchanan Duke provided forty-million-dollars to fund advances in education, health care, child care and religion in North and South Carolina. During the sixty years that have passed, the fund has grown to nearly six-hundred-million-dollars. This article discusses the Duke family and their endowment.
